Pillowcase Chair Covers

We recently did a party and we needed a quick fix for the chairs....we used the pillow cases we had made since it was a sleepover. They worked like a dream! Then they were transferred to the pillows when we were done with the dining room decorations. Finally they were given as gifts in the adorable monogrammed gift bags taken home as party favors. Becky at Digital Detours did our photographs and this could possibly be my favorite! More beautiful photos to come later!

Fleur de Sel Caramel Corn

I am sharing an old family recipe. It is super quick and easy. I have told only a handful of people over the years and they have had to beg for the enjoy! Have a crowd on hand because it is very hard to resist!

Fleur de Sel Caramel Corn Stove Top Style
by Brenda Byers

8 Large Marshmallows
1 stick butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla bean paste
1/2 tsp fleur de sel

3 Quarts Popcorn (best cooked over the stove)

Have popcorn ready--white is the best background for this caramel.  Melt the butter--do not brown it-- and then stir in the brown sugar. The longer you cook the brown sugar/butter the crispier it will so it doesn't burn. We like it gooey so we just melt the marshmallows right away.

Add all the marshmallows all at one time. This is sort of like rice krispies in that you need to melt the marshmallows completely. When melted, pour over popcorn, no baking involved.
